Cross Commodity Trader – Germany (Munich)

To strengthen their team, they are looking for two Cross Commodity Traders.

The challenge

▪Optimization of the residual positions of the German electricity and gas portfolio in the period Month Ahead to Day Ahead to reduce shape and weather risks
▪Observing meteorological developments and assessing their influence on position changes
▪Analysis of fundamental market data and development of a view of possible price developments for the German electricity and gas market
▪Develop trading strategies to minimize risk
▪Trading in the OTC, brokered and exchange markets
▪Close cooperation with spot and intraday trading

A background that convinces

▪Successfully completed master’s/diploma studies (technical/economic background)
▪Commercial trading experience as an electricity or gas trader in comparable positions
▪Experience in developing and implementing trading and optimization strategies
▪In-depth knowledge of the market mechanisms for electricity and gas in Germany
▪Strong commercial mindset
▪Good analytical skills and methodically structured way of working
▪High IT affinity and knowledge of programming (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA)
▪Willingness to change and the motivation to design and develop new business activities
▪Strong team orientation and commitment
▪Ability to work independently to make and implement critical commercial decisions under time pressure
▪Good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
