An IBEX35 company is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic Carbon Markets Lead to spearhead its carbon strategies and initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s carbon management strategy, aligning with corporate sustainability goals and market developments.
• Market Engagement: Monitor and navigate the evolving landscape of voluntary carbon markets, with a specific focus on technology-based solutions and mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
• Business Development: Leverage commercial expertise to identify, assess, and secure high-value opportunities in carbon markets, including partnerships, projects, and investment opportunities.
• Technical Oversight: Provide informed insights into carbon offsetting methodologies, carbon credit generation, and verification processes, ensuring robust compliance and integrity in all initiatives.
• Collaboration: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, industry groups, and project developers, to drive innovation and influence market trends.
• Reporting and Analytics: Ensure accurate measurement, reporting, and communication of carbon-related activities, highlighting the company’s achievements and positioning in global markets.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience:
  • Demonstrated understanding of the voluntary carbon market landscape, particularly in technology-based solutions, biochar, and Article 6 developments.
  • Proven commercial experience and acumen in carbon markets, with a strong track record of delivering results.

• Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep knowledge of carbon offset methodologies, verification processes, and emerging market trends.
  • General familiarity with climate science and sustainability frameworks.

• Languages:
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is essential.

• Location:
  • Position based in Madrid, with occasional travel as required.
