Reporting to the India Deal Lead, the Project Manager will oversee the delivery of a community-based carbon project along India’s eastern coast. The primary focus will be on integrated mangrove aquaculture (IAM) systems, with a secondary emphasis on sustainable rice intensification projects. Based in India, initially in Odisha, the Project Manager will serve as the company’s representative, responsible for all aspects of the project.
This high-impact project aims to restore 10,000 hectares of mangrove forests in its first phase, significantly transforming rural areas along the eastern coast and generating substantial carbon offsets. The role offers an opportunity to lead one of the world’s most important carbon credit projects.
Key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, manage, and motivate the project team, ensuring they have the necessary resources to meet objectives.
- Project Development: Serve as the primary liaison between the company’s international team and on-the-ground operations, advising on and ensuring successful delivery across reputation, schedule, quality, and financial performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with partners, landowners, local communities, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to ensure project support.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Establish and lead a safety-first culture and deliver top-tier HSE performance.
- Schedule and Cost Management: Oversee project schedules and budgets, including the development, monitoring, and control of both.
- Quality: Ensure project delivery meets the standards outlined in the Quality Plan.
- Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Reporting: Provide regular progress updates, financial reports, and documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Project Technology: Manage the development and operation of the digital tech stack for the project.

Required experience

Qualifications

- Fluency in English and at least one additional recognized Indian language is essential.
