Our client, a leading energy brokerage operating as an Organized Trading Facility (OTF) under MiFID II, is seeking a Carbon Voice Broker to join their carbon desk. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of carbon trading in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The company is a well-established and respected power and gas brokerage with several offices around Europe. For this role, you could be located in Paris or Milan.

Main responsibilities

• Execute voice-brokered trades primarily in the EU and UK Emissions Trading Systems (ETS) allowances (EUA and UKA) as well as other carbon market products
• Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with a diverse client base, including power generators, industrial companies, and financial institutions active in carbon markets
• Provide expert market insights, real-time pricing information, and superior execution services to already existing clients
• Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in the evolving carbon markets
• Ensure strict compliance with MiFID II regulations and internal policies in all trading activities
• Collaborate seamlessly with our electronic trading team to facilitate hybrid voice/electronic execution strategies
• Stay at the forefront of carbon market trends, regulatory developments, and innovative trading strategies

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a voice broker in compliance and voluntary carbon markets.
• Comprehensive knowledge of carbon markets, with particular expertise in European compliance carbon markets (EU and UK ETS)
• Understanding of MiFID II requirements for OTFs
• Exceptional verbal communication skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional European languages is highly advantageous
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex market data
