Freelance Consultant – Energy & Commodities Trading (6–12 Month Projects)

Our clients offer support to leading trading houses, utilities, and energy companies across Europe by delivering high-impact and targeted consultancy projects from strategy to implementation across the full energy value chain.
On behalf of our clients, we are looking for experienced professionals in energy trading and commodities markets who are open to project-based roles (6–12 months) across Europe.
About You
Our clients are interested in speaking with freelance professionals who have hands-on experience in the energy trading sector, across roles such as:
- Traders (Power, Gas, LNG, Emissions, Intraday, Day-Ahead, Cross-border)
- Quantitative Developers & Analysts (Python, time-series models, forecasting, pricing models)
- Energy Market Analysts (fundamentals, supply/demand, policy impact)
- Risk Analysts & Structurers (VaR, scenario modelling, storage/transport modelling)
- Trading Consultants or Advisors (strategy, systems, process optimization)
- ETRM or Energy Systems Experts (implementation, optimization, integration)
Ideal Background
- 3+ years of experience in energy or commodities trading
- Previous freelance or consultancy experience preferred (but not required)
- Strong understanding of European power, gas, or LNG markets
- Quantitative or data-driven skillset is a strong plus (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
- Experience with energy analytics, forecasting, or pricing models
- Comfortable working independently and delivering on clear project objectives
- EU or UK work eligibility
