Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Principal Engineer to lead the strategic planning and development of next-generation power system solutions. This role will shape the future of technologies such as BESS, FACTS, HVDC/MVDC, and grid-forming inverters. As a thought leader, you will guide cross-functional innovation initiatives, collaborate with internal and external partners, and contribute to both technology strategy and industry standards development.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Vision

  • Analyze global power system trends to shape the long-term technical roadmap.
  • Define and guide technology platforms and innovation directions across the product portfolio.

Solution Development & Innovation

  • Drive the integration of emerging technologies (e.g., BESS, FACTS, grid-forming controls) into advanced power system architectures.
  • Translate customer challenges into scalable, future-proof solutions that lead the market.
  • Support joint-innovation programs with key partners and cross-functional teams.

System Studies & Prototyping

  • Conduct simulations, grid impact analyses, and power system studies.
  • Lead or support lab and field validation of new technologies and control strategies.

Industry Leadership & Collaboration

  • Actively participate in technical working groups, consortia, and standardization bodies.
  • Represent the organization as a technical leader, influencing industry direction and standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Expertise in Power Systems

  • Deep technical knowledge in power system platforms, including BESS, FACTS, HVDC, MVDC, and renewable integration.
  • Strong background in system architecture and control strategies for grid-connected and grid-forming inverters.

Innovation & Product Strategy

  • Proven experience transforming advanced technologies into market-ready solutions.
  • Familiarity with grid simulation tools, virtual power plant architectures, and control systems for renewable energy sources.

Cross-Functional & Industry Insight

  • Strategic thinker with multi-domain awareness (technology, customer needs, industry trends).
  • Hands-on experience in co-developing solutions with engineering, R&D, and customer-facing teams.

Track Record of Impact

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept to implementation.
  • Experience influencing executive-level decisions with technical recommendations.

Preferred Expertise

  • Experience with power electronics and control systems for inverter-based resources.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle infrastructure, advanced energy storage systems, or distributed energy resources.
