The Energy Sales & Markets department includes a diverse and experienced team consisting of PPA Originators, Market Analysts, and PPA Structurers. Together, they are responsible for the development, structuring, and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Route-to-Market strategies, and other energy supply contracts across European markets.
About the Role
The Renewables PPA Structurer will be part of the internal center of expertise for energy-related contracts and offtake agreements across Europe. This role involves working closely with PPA Originators to design tailored commercial structures and ensure contracts reflect evolving market conditions and regulatory environments. The position also bridges the gap between commercial, legal, and financial functions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the internal center of expertise for energy contracts and offtake structures in European markets
- Act as a strategic partner to PPA Originators in developing and customizing PPA offers across various regions
- Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, market design updates, and contract structures affecting Route-to-Market opportunities and project viability
- Lead and coordinate the structuring and negotiation of commercial energy agreements with a variety of counterparties, including utilities, corporates, and service providers
- Align closely with finance and development teams to maintain visibility on the project pipeline and develop strategies to optimize electricity and related revenues
- Act as a liaison between the PPA team and internal legal and finance departments, as well as external legal advisors, to ensure contracts are commercially optimized and legally sound
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a commercial or contract management role within the energy industry
- Solid understanding of European electricity markets, with deep expertise in at least one of the following countries:
- United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Hungary, Spain, or Finland
- Proven experience in negotiating and finalizing energy contracts such as PPAs, standard power products, power supply agreements, or Guarantees of Origin
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional European language is considered an asset
- Strong motivation for working in renewable energy and storage technologies
- Self-driven and solution-oriented, with a proactive, hands-on mentality and a strong sense of ownership
