Renewable Energy Certificates Sales Trader – North America (Flexible Location)
Our client, a commodity trading firm, is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) Sales Trader to join their climate solutions team in North America. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy markets leveraging previous experience.
Key responsibilities
- Execute trades in various RECs products across North American markets
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including utilities, corporations, and financial institutions
- Provide market insights, pricing information, and execution strategies to clients
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the evolving RECs markets
- Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure compliance with trading limits and risk policies
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging opportunities in renewable energy markets
- Contribute to the development of trading strategies and product offerings
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience trading RECs or other environmental commodities in North American markets
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy markets, regulations, and trading mechanisms across different states and regions
- Established relationships with market players.
- Strong understanding of various REC products
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding sales targets
- Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Environmental Science); advanced degree is a plus
