Within the organization, the Energy Sales & Markets department comprises a diverse team of PPA Originators, Market Analysts, and PPA Structurers. This team is responsible for the development, structuring, and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Route-to-Market strategies, and other energy-related contracts across multiple European markets.
About the Role
The Team Leader – Renewables PPA Structuring will head a team of commercial contract specialists within the internal center of expertise for energy agreements. This leadership role includes overseeing the structuring and negotiation of PPAs, Route-to-Market agreements, and other offtake contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. The position plays a crucial role in shaping commercial strategy, maintaining market competitiveness, and maximizing revenue streams across various markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of PPA Structurers within the Energy Sales & Markets department
- Oversee the structuring and execution of PPAs, Route-to-Market agreements, and related energy contracts across European markets
- Act as a senior advisor and strategic partner to PPA Originators to ensure tailored and competitive contract structures
- Monitor regulatory changes, market design developments, and commercial trends to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with internal legal, finance, and development teams to align contract terms with business goals and risk strategies
- Establish and promote best practices for contract structuring across the organization
- Represent the company in industry events, regulatory forums, and stakeholder engagements related to energy markets and contracting
Candidate Profile
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Energy Management, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial structuring of energy contracts, energy trading, or a comparable field
- In-depth knowledge of European electricity markets, with direct experience in at least one of the following countries:
- United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, France, Poland, Hungary, Spain, or Finland
- Proven track record in negotiating and finalizing complex energy contracts such as PPAs, Route-to-Market agreements, and risk mitigation structures
- Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages are advantageous
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong negotiation skills and a solution-oriented approach
- Passion for renewable energy and emerging technologies such as storage
