Our client is a French company founded in 2008 and specializing in the renewable energy sector, more specifically photovoltaic, wind and battery energy. They are one of the leading service providers in the renewable energy sector, offering a wide range of solutions covering the construction, technical, administrative, accounting and financial operation of wind and solar farms, as well as technical and financial advice covering the entire life cycle of renewable projects in Europe and worldwide.
This company is accelerating its development through a strategy of organic growth (new clients) and external growth (acquisitions and partnerships). They joined recently a major group and operates as an independent entity.
They offer a wide range of solutions covering the construction, technical, administrative, accounting and financial operations of wind and solar power plants and advises developers, banks or investors on the acquisition or sale of assets, as well as their financing.
Job Description
They are currently looking for a Senior Advisory Due Diligence Consultant and Wind Specialist to join their Advisory team in the UK. The aim of this position is to develop the UK Advisory office by not only providing technical and commercial expertise, but also by developing the UK business. This Advisor will have a central role in carrying out the company’s technical audits, particularly in Wind Energy (but also PV and BESS), and will be responsible for growing the company’s network and potentially heading up a dedicated team. Mastery of the tools needed to carry out wind audits is necessary to enable growth in this field of expertise.
The position should preferably be based in London, but teleworking elsewhere in UK is a possibility; the choice will be made by the candidate.
The Advisory Due Diligence Consultant and Wind Specialist will involve:
Carrying out technical due diligence on wind, solar and energy storage projects, including (but not limited to) project management, client relations, deliverability studies or reviews of the various project contracts, and the technical expertise required to produce the reports.
Carrying out pre- and post-construction wind energy deliverability studies, including in particular:
Carrying out analyses and reviews of the wind resource, life time assessment, energy deliverability, installed capacity, wind farm configuration and site selection for proposed wind farms, particularly for new markets
Reviewing the design and equipment of wind farms.
Communicate with turbine manufacturers regarding technological options and the appropriateness of the choice of turbines
Analyze and report on site measurements, including mast, SODAR, LIDAR and production data
Produce bankable wind deposit and deliverable reports with the highest possible accuracy. These are delivered in accordance with mission deadlines. This applies to both pre-construction and post-construction deliverability analyses
Review and provide analysis of third party reports
Review data, deliverability reports and site condition reports for potential project acquisitions
Review the performance of wind farms in operation
Carrying out Business Development mission to extend their Market Share in the UK:
Improve their network in the UK and worldwide
Participation in commercial and technical fairs (domestic and internationals)
Organization and participation in business meetings with potential partners/clients, etc.)
Managing the Key Account of the company’s main customers and helping to expand the network
Management of the relationship with internal sales and support in the drafting of offers
Active interaction with the Sales teams in the commercial development of Greensolver.
Supporting the Asset Management, Finance and PPA teams expansion within the country
Reviewing and analyzing third party reports, contracts and environmental constraints of parks as part of technical audits
Examine data, energy production reports and reports on site conditions as part of acquisitions or sales
Optimizing existing tools
Reviewing project-related contracts (EPC, O&M, network connection contracts, PPA, etc.) is a plus
Participate in due diligence processes, internal and external meetings
Qualifications / Experience
Experience: 5 year(s)
Qualifications/Professional skills/Personal Skills/IT Skills:
This role requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience in wind technical consultancy, wind deliverability analysis, preferably in a variety of markets
Experience in wind resource analysis and project design essential; solar experience an advantage
The candidate should demonstrate a strong existing network in the renewables industry
Experience in operational wind farm analysis is an advantage
Experience in advising lenders, OEM suppliers, developers or operators of wind projects
Excellent communication and report writing skills, strong mathematical and analytical background and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical colleagues is essential
Highly analytical with attention to detail and ability to exercise engineering judgement
Software programming/development experience is an advantage.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
Experience in the use of major wind industry software (WAsP, WindPRO, Weng,…) PVsyst or other software for assessing future generation resources is an advantage.
Experience with CFD models is an advantage
Experience in examining financial models (examining technical assumptions) would be highly appreciated.
The candidate should demonstrate a strong appetite to discuss with customers and partners
Experience in participating into expert panel discussions during conferences would be a strong plus
Fluency in English
Second language: French or Polish is a plus
Graduate with a master’s degree in physical sciences or engineering
