Short Term Power Trader 

Reporting to the global Director of Front Office, the Short Term Power Trader is responsible for developing and executing short-term trading strategies and identifying opportunities in the Polish energy markets. Key strengths include monitoring customer portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing valuable insights for strategic decision-making. Proficient in designing and enhancing automated trading tools, the Front Office Manager consistently drives positive financial results and capitalizes on market opportunities.

Responsibilities

Define and execute daily and within-day trading in the Polish power market, including buying and selling electricity to capitalize on market fluctuations and optimize profitability
Improvement of short-term demand forecasts
Monitoring and optimisation of the power customer portfolio, limiting risk within the established parameters
Monitoring of regulation and analysis of possible impacts, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks
Supporting negotiation strategies with negotiation tools and data visualisation (reports)
Apply power trading insight to design, optimize and rethink automated trading tools
Generate positive P/L and capture market opportunities based on analysis of market conditions
Forecast and control the market guarantees required in the Polish power market. Ensure compliance with market guarantee regulations and optimize financial performance
Proceed, coordinate and ensure the success of both Front Office operations and processes shared with other operational departments (Middle Office, Back Office, Sales and DSO operations).

Qualifications

2 to 4 years of experience in similar role within the energy industry, with significant knowledge of the Polish power market, regulatory environment and key market participants (German market knowledge will be advantageous)
Experience in OTC trading and exchanges (TGE, EEX)
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, engineering, finance, or a related discipline
Fluency in Polish and English (oral and written) is essential (Spanish will be advantageous)
High analytical and teamwork skills
High level in Exce
Experience in Programming/Data analysis
