Role summary

The Sr. Manager/Director, Sustainability Advisory Services APAC is responsible for the strategic development and ongoing management of the Sustainability Advisory business across the Asia Pacific region. This spans all aspects of our sustainability and decarbonization consulting offerings within the region, including product and service development, onboarding and staff management, commercial engagement, and service delivery to set and achieve annual revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

Business Strategy Development and Planning

▪Develop and manage the strategic plan to ensure business growth and profitability.
▪Continually evaluate customer needs and market dynamics impacting the business.
▪Identify and prioritize market segments and geographies that have the greatest growth and revenue potential within region.

Product & Service Development

▪Refine and maintain existing advisory offerings to ensure market relevance and Develop and launch new offers to meet market demands.
▪Maintain knowledge of sustainability advisory markets, growth of new and emerging markets to identify new product and service opportunities.

Financial and Business Management

▪Work with the Global Director, Sustainability Advisory on development of annual performance targets.
▪Develop and manage all relevant performance and financial KPIs associated with the business. Track, monitor and report on the proposal and project pipeline, including financial forecasting.

Commercial Engagement and Growth

▪Serve as the overall Sustainability Advisory business lead within the region, supporting growth across all Sustainability Advisory offerings (consulting, carbon reporting and compliance, energy efficiency), as well as driving incremental growth across the Sustainability business.
▪Proactively engage with commercial teams and directly with clients to drive business growth.  Develop proposals, costs and pricing aligned with client expectations.

Performance Management and Excellence

▪Effectively manage project timelines, cost, and deliverables for each engagement.  Develop standard deliverables reflective of company standards.
▪Develop partnerships as needed to support business growth and market expansion.

Team Leadership and People Development

▪Effectively manage a team of sustainability consulting professionals to support commercial efforts and deliver projects to clients.
▪Build a successful, high performing team to meet market needs across the defined offerings.

Desired skills

▪Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in related field preferred
▪At least 7 years of experience, Strong technical understanding of the wide range of sustainability strategies and decarbonization solutions available in the market, and ability to assess new and complimentary technologies to identify new opportunities. Candidates who has more experience could be considered at Director level
▪Strong people management skills, ability to design and implement efficient team structures.  Experience in managing a team, and in developing personnel within a high growth environment.
▪Effective communications skills (written, verbal and presentation) in Japanese with strong English Language ability required
▪Must be a motivated, self-starter, Effective team player who excels at performing in a collaborative environment.
